Two grants totaling $1.7 million have been approved for studying offshore wind technologies in Michigan.

What exactly will they be studying? It's already been shown to work and offshore wind farms are providing benefits in other parts of the world -- particularly Northern Europe.

Why do we need to do our own study and reinvent the wheel instead of taking advantage of what's already been done?

Instead of using that $1.7 million to fund a study, why can't the Michigan PSC use that money to get a project started on Lake Michigan or Lake Huron?
