President Mentions Advanced Biofuels in Jobs Speech
President Obama reaffirmed the importance of domestically produced fuels in his address to Congress on jobs Thursday night.
“If we provide the right incentives, the right support — and if we make sure our trading partners play by the rules — we can be the ones to build everything from fuel-efficient cars to advanced biofuels to semiconductors that we sell all around the world,” the president said. “That’s how America can be number one again.”
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) was pleased to hear the president utter the words “advanced biofuels” in connection with jobs. “As the only commercial scale Advanced biofuel that’s produced nationwide today, biodiesel is proof that strong domestic energy policy and incentives can create good paying American Jobs,” said NBB VP of Federal Affairs Anne Steckel. “Even in this economy, our industry is experiencing a boom. We’re on pace to produce more biodiesel than ever before. We strongly encourage Congress to follow through with a green jobs package that includes the biodiesel tax incentive that gets people back to work.”
Obama outlined his $450 billion jobs plan including tax cuts, tax credits, infrastructure investments and other measures in his speech Thursday night to Congress, urging lawmakers to pass it immediately to put Americans back to work.

If Congress and the Senate (read Republicans) can’t vote for the ‘green jobs package’ which is in diguise really one of the greatest jobs/employment- environmental/greenhouse gas reduction- national security- rural development- trade deficit reduction and jobs bill all rolled into one, Then the voters should throw out all of the scum that vote against it. Remind them they work for us and not vice-versa.

We are stupid and not educating our children (ranked thirteenth in science in the world) will leave us in the same boat when our kids are running this country and we are old. Our infrastructure is crumbling and we are rebuilding Iraq an Afghanistan. We need to be rebuilding American roads, bridges, our decaying electrical systems, adding wind, river, OTEC, tidal, biomass, garbage, and any other power generating capacity possible. We need to pull out of foreign countries and set up “Quick Strike Teams” to go after our enemies in whatever country they are at the time. Not attack a whole country, destroy and rebuild it at a high expense to our economy. This approach is why our economy is in the mess it is today. I understand a different group of people would get rich if a precision approach is used but we cannot afford to rebuild every country that hates us. Using a sledge hammer to kill a fly is wasteful and profitable only to favored friends of our government selling weapons of mass destruction, when a precise strike would cost less and create less undesired destruction that we feel we need to rebuild at more expense to our economy.
Bringing our boys home, removing them from danger and rebuilding our country makes more common and economic sense.
